Meeting was called to order at 7:15
Presidents Report – Council Meeting
Bull Roast is the only function the Council holds to raise funds. More information pertaining to date and price at a future meeting
Polar Bear Plunge
No fires, charcoal grills, no glass bottles
New – Ice cave – you can now buy beer, liquor and mixed drinks.
If you walk outside of your roost area please use a cooley or a cup.
Bus leaves at 8:00 and will return at 2:00
O.C Ravens Roost Convention
This year the theme/motto is “The fan club that would not die”
Registration $55 each. You must register and pay by the Mar meeting.
Your registration fee will cover food and beer. You will receive a registration packet filled with goodies. The calendar of days and times when food will be available and all activities will be included with your registration packet. More information will be provided at next months meeting.
We will be placing an ad in the convention guide again this year. Bill will obtain the price for a ¼, ½ or full ad. If you would like to place an ad see Bill.
Old Business
Christmas Party - We ate drank and had fun
Lottery Calendar
Tracy is looking into this fund raiser. She has not hear back from her contact yet.
Logo Shirts
We will need a deposit an have to pay the balance owed when we pick up the shirts/merchandise. Debbie will give us choices/colors. Purple, Gray and White are the color selections. Black will not be available as it is difficult to see our logo on black shirts.
Convention
We will vote on a full page ad for the convention during our next meeting. Full page ad will cost $75.
Rooms - Due to the Maki being up for auction rooms will not be available. Everyone will be looking for their own hotel rooms this year. We will meet up at the convention every day.
Valentines Day Dance
Canceled. At the present time we do not have enough members to ensure big ticket sales. We will hold a dance at a later point in time.
New Business
Chili Cook off will be held 13 Mar. Jody and Bill have volunteered to chair. Peggy will make up the flyers. Michelle D. will assist Jody and Bill. If you plan to enter the chili contest there will be an entry fee of $10. Your entry fee includes free food.
Guests and Ravens members not entering the contest will be charged $10. This includes your food. Cash Bar. More information will be available by next months meeting.
Donations – Charity
Wayne donated a Jersey that was raffled off at the Rock Jam for the Little Man. Proceeds of $750 went to R.J. Peterson a 3 year old child with Cerebral Palsy.
For the Good of the Club
Moving the Ravens Roost to Johnson’s has been a success. We all mesh well together.
Any ideas you may have to help raise funds for charity are welcome.
Council Meeting
If you would like to attend a council meeting please see Bill. Members can attend council meetings every month however you cannot speak at these meetings. The president and/or the representative (vice president) is the spokesperson for Ravens Roost 68. This is per council policy/regulations.
Bull and Oyster Roast
There will be a Bull and Oyster Roast at The Moose Lodge in Essex on 27 Feb from
7-12. Tickets are only $15 and they are going fast. If you are interested in attending please see Bill.
